MA NOTE

Dev (Akshaye Khanna), a police officer, is investigating a double murder case that has only two witnesses, who are also the prime suspects. The suspects - Vikram (Siddharth Malhotra), an acclaimed writer, and Maya (Sonakshi Sinha), a young homemaker, have different narratives about the events of that fateful night. Both the stories seem true but there can be only one truth. Dev is torn between the two versions of the story, and will not settle till he finds out what happened that night.

Fawad Khan was originally cast to play the role of main protagonist, but Sidharth Malhotra replaced him after ongoing India/Pakistan conflict over the Kashmir region led for a call to ban all Pakistani actors from Indian films.

Gaffes
Vikram, was driving a Mercedes when he hits the divider and rolls over. Being a Mercedes , upon impact the air bags should have inflated and Vikram wouldn't have been so injured. Also, the windshield was intact.

This is a Bollywood movie? What ttefaq!

Not your conventional Bollywood movie, no song and dance sequences means a more streamlined and effective runtime. This is a tense thriller. Siddhartha Malhotras character is on the run suspected of his wife's murder and gets caught over the body of another unrelated fellow. The police arrest him straight away thinking it's a straight forward case but all is not what it seems. The first thing that hits you is the witty dialogue between the police officers, realistic and identifiable. The actions of the officers involved together with the realistic sets and the dialogue make for very believable scenes. The acting is very good from all involved. The soundtrack adds to the tense situation. There are light moments but this is a serious movie. Great first time direction from Chopra, he has taken a refreshing approach, let's hope he brings in more of the same.
