The interior of the Hotel Slava in Harbin is in reality the Longmen Dasha VIP Hotel, a historical landmark of the city, built by the Russians in 1905 and rebuilt by the Japanese in 1935 as part of their Yamato chain of luxury hotels in Manchuria. It is still open and working to this day, preserved as in the Japanese era.
