A sad, subtle, resonant drama

A Canadian drama; A story about a woman struggling to cope with the onset of the neurodegenerative disorder Parkinson's, and how her son comes to terms with his own identity and sexuality. The film is about the acting, especially the soft-spoken Shirley Henderson who gave a delicate performance. The characters seem well observed - how they cope with grief, trauma and circumstance - mutual appreciation for one another. These people are good people and it is refreshing the way the drama unfolds.
