I quite see myself as a Parson Woodforde-type vicar, living in a fine rambling vicarage with an attractive garden. There are hills and woods in the neighborhood with plenty of good walks and some interesting historical monuments. I have a splendid library, where I spend much time reading and writing. My church, where I preach 'religion without enthusiasm' to a docile population, has many medieval features. I eat and drink well: it is a comfortable life.
