Ann Berry(V)
Ann is an experienced TV news broadcaster and Founder of Threadneedle Ventures, which provides high growth businesses with operating advisory services and capital. She is the General Partner of Threadneedle Opportunity Fund, investing in data analytics, A.I. and web3 companies at the seed stage in partnership with Alexis Ohanian (founder & ex-CEO of Reddit) and his $750M VC firm, 776. Previously, Ann was Chief Investment Officer of Jimmy Kimmel's media platform Wheelhouse. Her team provided technology & consumer portfolio companies with growth equity and branding campaigns executed on by in-house TV production, digital and marketing divisions in New York & Los Angeles.
From 2017 to 2021 Ann was a Partner & Investment Committee member at Cornell Capital, the $6 billion private equity firm in New York & Hong Kong. There she acquired companies in the consumer, financial and business services sectors. Ann previously spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, joining the firm's M&A team in London in 2003, then investing principal private equity globally through 2016. Ann has deployed billions of dollars through take-privates, LBOs and structured financings.
In 2019 through 2020, Ann was CEO of PureStar, moving to Las Vegas to lead the hospitality services company through COVID-19. She executed on a major operational revamping of the company to drive revenue and margin growth. Under her leadership, PureStar was recognized for groundbreaking diversity in its C-suite and across 30 North American industrial locations with 5,000+ employees. A director of baseball star A-Rod's SLAM Corp. (NYSE: SLAM) and Allure Labs, Ann has also served on the boards of Interline (sold to Home Depot), GCA (sold to ABM), PureStar and others. She is an advisor to Cornell Capital and Anchor Capital.
Ann is a regular markets commentator on Bloomberg, CBS, CNBC, Fox and Yahoo, and a weekly host on Public.com, the stock trading app with 1+ million subscribers. Ann holds a Double First Class Honors BA in economics from Cambridge University (Trinity College junior and senior scholar).
