This review written in 2023. In 2014, Jenny McCarthy seemed determined to test her star power by MC'ing a comedy fest featuring raw and raunchy comedy from women comics. A half-century earlier, this was called "blue" material; there were no women to be speak of in the comedy biz; and even male comics avoided this sort of act. But times change. The result could have been solid, but it was not. McCarthy never found the right note for her intros, and none of her truly terrible in-between sketches would have passed the napkin test at SNL. All might have been forgiven if the sets themselves were any good, but they were not. Comics known for tight delivery seemed lost and confused. Only Tiffany Haddish, the closing act, gave a hint as to what this show could have been. For film historians, it should be noted that, some 5 years later, Carole Montgomery, possibly inspired by McCarthy's failure, launched her FUNNY WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE trio, even the weakest of which was better than this.
