Setting Him Up for Success

Lapis Afterglow's screenplays provide similar, bottom-of-the-barrel Pure Taboo segments, now on DVD, that leave a bad taste in one's mouth. Watching them is a long, difficult slog.

Title scene trots out one of the corniest routines in the book, something left over from burlesque or vaudeville of a 100 years ago.

Tommy Pistol, in an affected performance that smacks of dated drawing-room comedy, is harangued by "stage mom" Little Puck, who visits the school office of admissions to pitch for her son to be moved from a waiting list to immediate acceptance for admission.

Pistol verbally dances around the subject for many minutes, seemingly stalling her, until she, on cue, says porn's magic words: "I'll do anything", and gives him a blow job, followed by over a half hour of gonzo sex.

To say that the "twist ending", after Tommy's money shot is predictable is an understatement -it's 100% obvious.

In "Overachiever", I felt sorry for starlet Gal Ritchie, stuck in the role of a student who is failing but still wants to get into a special scholarship program, so she asks the school principal if he can get her grade changed to help out. She's already had sex with him in exchange for a previous favor, but Vince Karter, playing a total creep, says he's through with her because he's only interested in virgins and she's already given away that.

She agrees to do anything, the magic words, and Karter goes Gonzo on her with all sorts of humiliating stuff. She's offered to let him cum inside her and he does, later giving her a facial too, The scene ends in a nasty fashion, typical of Pure Taboo content.

This scene is quite lousy, first due to Karter's very thick European accent (I couldn't understand most of his dialogue) and also by the unfunny "comedy" gimmick of another teacher, played by Daniel Shar (who pops up frequently in porn as a Non-Sex extra), in the same room with them but "unaware" of the sex.
