We fans of classic porn have a strong mental image of Joey Silvera, since he has appeared on screen in so many roles, and often in classic films. His latter-day directing career is less prominent, but this lengthy set of nine TS solo turns that he shot is quality porn.

The issue with Silvera is whether he represents a positive or instead retrograde influence regarding the acceptance of TS performers in the Adult community, as part of society's growing acceptance of alternate lifestyles. I'm not contending that the porn world is all-important but it does represent a factor, and Joey is a leader in this niche in terms of both quality content and quantity as well.

For much of "XTC 12" he appears sympathetic to the cause. But it is still an exploitation video - that word is no longer considered derogatory but the fact is he is taking advantage of these women. In one segment, he even steps over the solo line, his hand entering the frame to insert a large dildo/butt plug in Kourtney Dash's posterior to help her rev up for a money shot.

From a fan's point-of-view, Joey's lurid attitude as expressed in his voice-over interview questions and heavy-breathing reaction to some of the girls is effective, but his motives are dubious. His videos are extremely well-shot and undoubtedly the best cast of any such product in the marketplace, but every one I've seen thus far still maintains a freak show atmosphere, either explicitly or implied. It's that age-old line between sympathetic portrayals and the old-fashioned glorification of smut/sleaze/etc. euphemistically explained away as "naughtiness".

Unlike many Italian or Brazilian videos in this vein which promise big cocks to the exclusion of all else, "XTC 12" especially succeeds in presenting several beautiful women with big dicks. The Black actress Kourtney lists hers as measuring 9-1/2 inches, and with Joey's consistently low-angle tight-closeup camera it looks even bigger - always hard and delivering a money shot in a concise segment. She's not the only one, and the most interesting model is Stephani Special, styled as an underage school girl wearing glasses, and playing her role for all it's worth. Eva Lin is the prettiest girl on view, a blonde bombshell in the vein of the genre's great Sarina Valentina. Of course Aubrey Kate, current #1 in popularity, is terrific in her turn.

Main issue for the fans is whether they want solo action or full-scale intercourse. In mainstream porn the solo video is something of an endangered species, but for the fledgling TS market it definitely has appeal in putting the viewer/voyeur in the driver's seat and less of a pervy onlooker.
