Ricky Greenwood directed this ambitious Adult feature, another of his homages to mainstream genre films (he's tackled everything from Roller Derby and Women Wrestling to Nunsploitation and Women in Prison). It offers plenty of suspense and entertainment, but suffers from lapses in tone -that is, reversion to Gonzo content and silliness that spoil the serious mood.
Working from a screenplay by his regular writer Maddy Burton plus actress Lilly Bell (who is not in the cast), movie has elements drawn from the recently popular niche porn sites Hentaied and Parasited. Basic story element has cute little Lulu Chu, a high school graduate who just wants to find herself, rejecting mommy Julia Ann's wish for her to go to college or get a job, becoming possessed by a demon or succubus. The first hour or so of the feature remains on track as a suspenseful thriller, with a nice balance (50/50) of explicit sex scenes versus story/dialogue content. But ridiculous gimmicks and the sex turning gonzo hurt the overall quality.
Key elements along the way are lifted from a wide variety of familiar horror/supernatural movies: the title from that famous tagline in Corman's "Little Shop of Horrors"; basic situation from "Demon Seed", Zulawski's "Possession" and Larry Cohen's "It's Alive!", plenty of iconic content from "The Exorcist" and others. Tommy Pistol as her doctor is underplaying at first, over-the-top and Gonzo later on in a role combining priest (who no longer believes) and doctor; busty September Reign is Lulu's former English teacher and best friend turned lover (another odd combo); Julia Ann plays her unsympathetic mom; and Ginger Lynn, way, way overacting as a crazy nun who even gets to throw in a feminist speech late in the show. Male supporting cast is largely stuck with stud roles.
