Freddie: You know, if I can't make this marriage work, what kind of a man am I?

Maura: D'ya ever stop moanin'?

Freddie: You notice my marriage just broke up!

Maura: Well, it seems to me it was the best thing for everyone!

[pause]

Maura: Anyway--marriage is not the be-all and end-all of life.

Freddie: Like you would know.

Maura: Oh. Molly told you.

Freddie: Yeah, she did.

Maura: Well--maybe I'm not the best person to be giving you advice, but you'll get over it. Find someone else, even.

Freddie: Who'd want me? I'm a nutter.

Maura: *Go and look*. What else have you gotta lose, heh? And maybe just try livin' with the next one for a while. If it works out, you can risk marriage in--10 or--20 years?

[pause; Maura smiles]

Maura: I better find my daughter.

Freddie: Yeah.
