5 students arrive on a Saturday for detention I'm guessing somewhere in Malaysia. Each character tries to put on an American or British accent, some of which are very poor, but not the worst I've heard, so it may already give you some idea of how this movie is trying to appeal to western audiences.
Soon the ground shakes and a space ninja invades the school for no reason, and the Breakfast Club group find themselves trapped in the school being hunted down by what looks like a cross between Charlie Sheen in The Wraith and Cobra Kommander.
For what it is, with a cast of mainly unknowns, it comes off better than other low budget movies. However, it misses a lot of marks and becomes a cluster of not being able to decide what kind of movie it's meant to be. Is it Sci-fi? Not really. Is it a comedy? If you find the plot funny without having an actual moment of laughter let out? Sure. Is it a horror? No. Is it a martial arts film? No.
It either needed more comedy or more horror to make it a better movie, as by the end it lost its tone and just became a typical fight back or die cliche, without leaving any memorable moments or a movie to ever want to watch again.
It also house quite a lot of audio issues, where you hear static in the recording, then they silence it while no dialog is present, then it comes back painfully as the next dialog is said.
It's not overly bizarre, either. There are small moments it tried to be, but if it was intentional, someone really should have tried a lot harder. So it's not even one of those so bad it's good films, or a so weird it's entertaining. It's just a strange idea that had potential, but didn't have the right talent to make it so.
One thing that was a bit off, but I must say was actually refreshing, was that the females in this movie didn't do the typical scream queen thing.
Honestly, I think previous reviews hyping this up saying it's great and fun and you must watch it are fake reviews, or written by someone involved with the film itself. Because honestly, it's ok, but I was restless by the end and I have no intention to ever watch it again. I'm giving it a high 4, just behind 5 stars.
