The film was fully shot by director André Sauvage, however upon watching the film prior to release, André Citroën was unhappy with it, bought the rights from producer Bernard Natan and hired Léon Poirier to supervise a new cut, which is what was released. This ended Sauvage's career, who never made another film and lived the rest of his life as a farmer. His cut was not preserved.
