Tradition is still strong despite regime changes

In traditional Confucianism, education is emphasized but just like the way its teachings stratify the society, education is also stratified: doctors, scientists, engineers and other science are much more appreciated than liberal arts such as painting and music. This believe remain strong in Chinese society despite political changes and the lovers' problems are the exact reflection of the school of thought of this kind.
