The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Wind from the East. (for the Mandarin title).
This movie is made in the last year of Sino-Soviet honeymoon and soon after this movie was made, the Sino-Soviet ideological split produced some very ironic results for the film crews of both countries that were involved in making this movie:
Some members of the former-Soviet film crew were later forced to make politically correct movies to denounce China, the very country and people they were eulogizing and glorifying a few years earlier, wile, the Chinese film crew suffered much worse fate: they ended up in the jails and labor camps, though they were following the order of the top bras to make this movie.
