What to say, what to say. There are a ton of movies made in recent years that are very similar to this grotesque slasher, but somehow this one was rather suspenseful, competently made and pretty well acted including the as usual reliable Jeremy Sisto and when all is said and done it's superior to many in this genre. That does not mean it is art or really even a good film. There is no point in discussing the plot as they are mostly all the same. Pretty young people in remote areas meet up with mad killers and we get to watch creative and gory ways to kill and torture them. There are variations in these plots, but it is of very little importance if they are on business trips, vacations or whatever. The primary point is to come up with new ways to knock off the pretty people. I've never seen either of the two sequels, but the fact that they exist indicates that this one was somewhat appreciated.
