The film was originally intended to have a theatrical release. However, because of the big similarities with the much more popular Una película de miedo (2000) (which was actually filmed after this film), it ended up being released direct to video. In the DVD's audio commentary, the actors refer to it as "that other movie" without ever saying the title.

Errores
You can see that the killer is actually wearing a flesh-colored thong in the shower, when he's supposed to be naked.

Not great, but reasonably entertaining

A spoof of several horror movies. Kids at a high school are being murdered by a maniac in a mask. A TV reporter investigates.

Not exactly original: horror spoof movies were dime-a-dozen in the early 2000s, and almost as common as horror movies involving crazed mask-wearing killers bumping off high school kids. Isn't too bad though: some good laughs and is reasonably entertaining. Never takes itself seriously, which is a very useful quality in a parody.

Much more watchable than I expected.
