This surprising, sparkling romantic comedy from Greece is very much in the vein of the Doris Day, Rock Hudson sophisticated rom-coms. However, there are several factors which go them one better. The heroine does not remain a virgin throughout the proceedings, and the glorious sea and sun of Greece in the setting. Also, the Greek music and folk dancing at the wedding and in the heroine's tipsy episode at the taberna after which she succeeds in seducing her "faux husband" make this film a very enjoyable romp. The two leads are quite good and the supporting characters, especially her father are done with great humor. The handsome hero (Andreas Barkoulis) is comically straight-faced and serious throughout the zany proceedings as he gradually falls for his "only temporary" politically expedient wife (Jenny Karezi). Highly recommended for light-hearted entertainment.
