Angela Baron's final movie is quite disappointing - a pretentious, boring exercise directed by the usually reliable Henri Pachard. Watching the beautiful but stone-cold Baron is a boring, off-putting experience.
It's not the actors' fault -they do what they're told. The premise is probably at fault - a rather dumb concept of the title weekend retreat where for a price, you can have an affair with no names asked and kink available if desired. Made in 1993, it plays like a parody of "Porno Chic" from a decade before.
Watching the cut-down DVD version (one of Vivid's usual cut to ribbons disk release of a VHS original), I found it pointless. Though Randy West and Angela are the principal "no questions asked" players, Randy Spears tends to overpower them in the role of Angela's vindictive ex-husband. The characters are all remote and unappealing, beyond the "appeal" to a viewer that just wants to see bodies having sex. Even an intrusive femme voiceover narration sort of explaining what's happening doesn't help.
"Twist" ending tries to be clever, but is as arid and remote as the rest of the movie.
