The series suffered from the BBC's lack of a proper archiving policy until 1978. It was BBC policy before 1978 to wipe master tapes and reuse them for other programmes, hence saving money and storage space. 85 episodes are thought to no longer exist.

Softly Softly

Actually filmed in Kent around the Medway Towns. How do I know, came home to Prospect Row Chatham after school one afternoon to find the place overrun with cops & cameras. Found out they weren't real cops & my Mother was giving coffee to a cop with a dog (Snow? > the cop not the dog). All I know is the dog was nice & he hated dogs, he was scared of them. After that got used to them being around the place. Would love to see some photos or shots of the series as they filmed around my home.

I now have to waffle as this dumb system says I have to submit a minimum of 10 lines.

Enjoyed Softly Softly Task Force as well as the original Z Cars.
