One day, Ana (Verónica Forqué) meets Koro (Maribel Verdú) at a night club , exclusively for women , called ¨El Tren¨ . Both of whom are drunks and they confess themselves their husbands are very boring. Ana's hubby is the perfect husband , he is a prestigious plastic surgeon (Juanjo Puigcorbé) . Koro's husband is a cook who fries tasty stews . Then , Koro proposes and bets Ana to seduce each others husbands . The following morning Ana is regretted and she thinks this was a joke . A bit later on , Ana falls for Koro's husband who is interested in her cooking books . Meanwhile , Ana and Tomas rely their daughter on the next door friend (Fernando Colomo) . Later on , the unexpected events go wrong but things are not always what it seems. As this peculiar quartet become involved into improbable situations.
Bemusing romantic comedy plenty of humor , antics , frolics , embarrassing scenes , and mayhem , but results to be mediocre . First film from expert on comedies Manuel Gómez Pereira and also written by his habitual team of screenwriters : Joaquin Oristrell , Yolanda Garcia Serrano and Juan Luis Iborra who often use amusing situations to give us a regular movie plenty of funny happenings , absurd incidents and many other things ; and that , at least , kept me entertained for the almost half an hour of duration . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable , with more traps the viewer resists any kind , and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few disconcerting . As the silly vicissitudes of the starring are so repetitive and the most part results to be rich in absurdities and implausibilities . It is one of the first Spanish comedies in which women are main protagonists and they really take the surprising decisions and twisted initiatives . Rightly enjoyable but middling and fun-filled , milestone comedy which neatly combines humor , mirth , entertaining events and amusement . It achieved a big office success , though was panned by reviewers , receiving awful critiques . The protagonist quartet is passable , though they give exaggerated interpretations . Likable performance by Juanjo Puigcorbé as a wealthy middle-class doctor . Sympathetic acting by Jose Coronado as a cook with no more ambitions and really interested in dishes and foods . The hit of the show is undoubtedly for the fetching Maribel Verdú who gives one of the most enticing screen acting and carrying out some erotic dances . At the same time , Verónica Forqué delivers a decent acting , as ever . Catching musical score by El Congo Belga , playing ¨Merengue music¨ and including the famous ¨Si Tú Me Dices Ven¨. Colorful cinematography with juicy atmosphere by Fernando Arribas , though a correct remastering being necessary .
The motion picture was middlingly written and directed by Manuel Gomez Pereira . He usually writes his films and occasionally for other directors as "What Makes Women Laugh?" by Joaquin Oristell who is also screenwriter and producer ; both of them are ordinary collaborators . Pereira is an expert on comedies as this ¨Rose sauce¨, ¨Why do they call it love when they mean sex ?¨, ¨Mouth to mouth¨ , "All Men Are the Same" , though he also has made some dramas as ¨The hanged man¨ and ¨Between your legs¨ . His latest projects, however, being box office flops as "Off Key" starred by an all-American-star-cast but was a failure both economically and artistically or simply didn't deliver . Hi greatest success was ¨"Love Can Seriously Damage Your Health" , it is Pereira's return to top form , with an intelligent and engaging script and won several Goyas . Nowadays , he directs TV chapters as ¨Gran Reserva¨ and ¨Cheers¨ series . ¨Salsa Rosa¨ or ¨Rose sauce¨rating : 5/10 . Average though acceptable . It will appeal to Spanish cinema buffs .
