The show was originally intended to end in 2000, with a 3-part finale in which Piet leaves for Spain with his new love. Later, RTL wanted to make more episodes, although Kraaijkamp Sr. initially refused, having decided to retire from television acting due to his old age. When Kraaijkamp Sr. gave in, two more seasons were made in 2002 and 2003.

Very old fashion comedy jokes, Dutch series

Het zonnetje in huis was according to myself very, very, old fashion.

Every episode the same old song, the same weird situations and jokes. Only the first 4 seasons where good, after that worst and worst.
