All that the precedent user wrote is thoroughly true.History is given a rough ride but if you do not ask too much ,you will find the story ridiculous enough to have a good laugh. The cinematography is impeccable, which was not the case in such low budget flicks. The screenplay ,as the precedent user has already pointed out is closer to Robin Hood than to the Borgia saga,Cesar playing the sheriff and his enemy the brave hero ,giving ducats to the Poor (which he probably stole from the Rich ,that's what we are told in his first appearance). There are some (very soft) erotic scenes .In fact, the only " daring gesture" is the scene when the lovers play with a host. The pope looks like a pig but the actress playing Lucrezia is really a babe.
