Matthew 'Stymie' Beard and Dickie Moore were good friends in real life, as they are in this film. Moore later fondly recalled going to the Beards' home for play and meals.

Without explanation, Dorothy disappears from the "taxi" and miraculously ends up in the car with Dickie's parents.

Versiones alternativas
When the short aired on television during the 1970s the scene where Stymie's mother was calling for him to take the laundry to Dick's parent's house was edited out because it was felt that it was racially insensitive. Similarly, the scene where Dick's mother referred to Stymie as "that colored boy" was also later edited out for the same reason.

Rescue this classic episode.

I recorded this episode in its entirety on VHS in the 1980's. Many moons and neighborhoods have seen it pass.

As the clock of progress takes us beyond, theatre, broadcast, VHS, DVD, internet, etc.; this masterpiece of comic genius is becoming more scarce than ever.

There was a brief time that you could view it on YouTube Movies in a few chapters. They're gone now and most of what's out there now online are missing the funniest parts. The mule gets drunk drinking rubbing alcohol and his tail points straight up.

Whatever it takes to get this, pursue it passionately. Even if it means buying it on VHS and having it professionally digitized. It's that good!!!!
