REVIEW - AMERICAN HANGMAN
It has been said that there are 2 types of trial, trial by press and trial by law but can and does the trial by press influence the trial by law, if it does then is the trial by law a fair trial?
We have seen this genre of film so many times before, people being kidnapped and the web audience decide what may happen to them but this film actually asks a lot of questions about how fair the legal system is if it is influenced by the power of the press, could an innocent man be sentenced to death because the press and public were looking for a scapegoat?
Very interesting and Donald Sutherland is totally believable as the judge being held accountable by the public audience for the way the case was investigated by incompetent police and the way the press pushed for a person to be held accountable.
Thought provoking and actually very worrying if you were the person facing death by the way the press influence the legal process.
No action except for the first 12 minutes then all story and amazing acting from all involved, so if you like a film with a story that makes you question this is definitely one for you.
