I'm not sure if everyone is aware, but 'Two Lights: Relumino' is a promotional film that highlights Samsung's 'Relumino', which is a visual aid application for the visually impaired.
That's why, when the short film first came out, I couldn't bring myself to watch it. I figured I'd just save it for later, which I did without a doubt because most of the time anything made for these companies and products appears to be a big CF with little substance in it.
But boy how wrong I was! I'm just glad I gave the short film a chance and rewatched it yesterday because it's nothing like those poorly written promotional series or movies that are geared towards making a certain product or brand more known by using idols or well-loved actors to be more favorable to the public.
You'll decide it's great to work the moment you start the movie and see it's just half an hour long. At the end of the movie, you'll have your heart smiling. That's a fantastic piece of work!!! Not only is the romance between the two leads heartwarming, but so is the message of how fortunate someone is to have eyes or how happy someone can be without them. The casts were able to convey so many emotions in 30 minutes that movies two hours long could not. As visually impaired people, Han Ji Min and Park Hyung Sik delivered stunning performances. I was particularly impressed with how they both portrayed their characters' physical conditions as manifested through the eyes, particularly Han Ji Min. It's so heartwarming and has such a positive vibe!!! I can't even describe how I felt every time I saw Dohyun's mother in the frame, her smile is priceless!!! I also burst into tears when everyone in the club was out photographing when they were feeling the beauty of things rather than seeing them; it'll make you realize that beauty must be felt rather than seen. And the ending was so touching, the expressions when they saw their family members' faces; it was so beautiful! It's a lovely short documentary, and you should see it. It will always have a special place in my heart.
