This is a remake of the original 2006 film, Después de la boda (2006), starring Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal, The Hunt, and Dr. Strange), Sidse Babett Knudsen (Westworld and Borgen) and Rolf Lassgård (Downsizing and A Man Called Ove). The original was directed by Susanne Bier (Bird Box and The Night Manager). The original was set in Copenhagen, while the remake is set in New York. In addition the remake has swapped the genders of the three leading characters.

A melodrama with so many clichés

I didn't know this was a remake of a Danish film. Now I understand why so many things seem shallow. None of the film crew internalize the story, hence could not make the audience believe. My five points are for the sake of good acting of Julianne Moore and nice photography. The film was really boring.
