Brandon Wilde's First Gang Bang

With that title I expected the worst, after dutifully watching dozens of Nica Noelle's boy/boy videos for her Icon Male label. Her quest to bring some dignity to a downtrodden genre continues apace, with just a tiny step for a man, a baby step forward for mankind.

Having abandoned her successful boy/girl and (with only one recent exception) girl/girl Adult Cinema features, Nica has been concentrating on Gay videos as well as TS porn of late. Capitalizing on Wilde's popularity, a video focused on a gang bang is an obvious no-brainer from a commercial standpoint, but thankfully there is a redeeming feature here.

That's because Nica has structured the show with just enough story and romantic content (contrived though it may be) to avoid the wall-to-wall sex tag. Brandon's co-stars (5) were chosen by the auteur from a list of 20 he submitted, per his interview that's included within the feature's running time.

Then, she scripted a nominal story set-up, in which Brandon experiences car trouble in a snow storm (like her other Icon Male features, it is shot on location in New England), and receives help from a car load of guys happening by.

They're invited over to his house, and plenty of schmoozing and getting to know their new friend occurs before clothes start getting shed and banging begins. Noelle's own personal touch is evident with Brandon setting a romantic stage by having lit lots of candles and serving white wine to all assembled, looking like a macho version of one of those Girlfriends Films lesbian romances she cut her teeth on a decade ago before starting her own trailblazing career as a director.

Sex begins at the 17-minute mark, and continues for a solid 70 minutes or so - perhaps just what the audience ordered, but clearly reducing Nica's ambitions to uplift her chosen genre to just a sliver of romance. The boys pair off in twos rather than circling around Brandon in the traditional cinematic gang-bang positions, still evident not only in Gay Porn but in the increasingly popular boy/girl cinema (especially IR version) one sees in recent features from Colette Pelissier or the superstar extravaganzas spotlighting Lisa Ann, Ava Addams, Anissa Kate or Kendra Lust with a bunch of guys.

Either way, there ain't much romance in these orgies whatever one's sexual preference. Cinema is a medium all about voyeurism, mainstream or Adult division, but watching folks hump non-stop for an hour or so can hardly be considered romantic or even erotic. It is mechanical sex for pay, and that ultimately is what Brandon and his femme mentor Nica have provided.
