Jimmy Prosser is a writer/director. He is an American Film Institute Conservatory (AFI) Screenwriting Fellow entering in 2024. Jimmy also is a 2018 graduate of New York University's (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, where his pilot for the limited series "John & Meryl" was selected by NYU Tisch faculty as the Outstanding TV Thesis (Drama) and was on The Black List's "Real Time Hot List." Jimmy's short films and several music videos have been screened and won awards at multiple respected festivals. In 2023, a short script excepted from his current feature project, "Korean Shooter," won the WeScreenplay Short Script Lab, the Tokyo Int'l Short Film Festival, the Big Apple Film Festival, and the acclaimed LA Shorts Int'l Film Festival where it received a staged reading.
Jimmy and his partners also are developing "Dimebag," an adult animated series, and have completed a fully animated teaser along with key shots and character designs. The pilot script has won several contests, including Coverfly (Top 1%); Austin Comedy Film Festival; Los Angeles Animation Festival; and No Boundaries Screenwriting Competition. Jimmy's short script for "Noteworthy" also won several awards, including London Independent Film Awards; Los Angeles International Film Festival; Top Shorts Film Festival; and London Lift-Off Film Festival. And his Better Call Saul spec script, "Queso," won 2nd Place in the Scriptapalooza TV One Hour Competition.
Jimmy has worked as a Development Intern with The Weinstein Company/Dimension Films, Paramount Pictures, and DIGA Studios. He is the founder of the production company, Dimebag Productions LLC.
