Oprah Oyugi

Oprah Oyugi is a multi-faceted filmmaker with fast-growing experience as a screenwriter, film director, editor and story consultant. She is a co-creator and writer on Netflix's first Kenyan Drama, Country Queen. She is also a writer on Igiza, a high-end thriller on Showmax. Oprah won the Best Script Writer award at the Women In Film Awards 2022. Her second short film as writer/director/editor, Supastaz, has screened in over 23 film festivals and won 4 awards globally. She was a content director on the first season of The Real Housewives of Nairobi. She runs a production company, Dhamira Films, alongside two talented female filmmakers. Oprah enjoys telling stories that examine human behaviour & relationships. She is fascinated by stories that exist within the grey areas of life. She hopes her work can be a mirror upon which society reflects on.
