Actress, writer and producer Jennifer Willis, a combat veteran of Afghanistan, spent 22 years as a U.S. Army officer, retiring in 2016 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Her worldwide service included Kuwait, Honduras, Europe and Egypt, with 13 months in the Afghan war zone as a commander and NATO spokesperson. She earned the Combat Action Badge for directly engaging the enemy during a firefight.
Soon after leaving the military, Jennifer returned to acting. In 2018, she landed the recurring role of tough urban mayor Wendy Johnson on crime drama Cold Southern Blocks. In April 2019, she completed principal filming as psychiatrist Dr. Monica Mudd on thriller feature The Nights Before Christmas, to be released December 2019. She plays resistance leader General Rhea in the forthcoming sci-fi feature Colonials, which concluded L.A.-area photography in September 2019.
Jennifer's latest projects include the drama feature Too Soon (spring 2020); espionage feature A Double-Edged Sword (summer 2020) and military feature The Cost of Living (2020).
In her screenplays, Jennifer draws on her rich trove of experience as an Army officer, combat veteran and military mother to tell compelling, authentic stories based on real events.
Through her production company, Army Girl Media, Jennifer supports emerging filmmakers whose projects tell important original stories. Army Girl Media's films are aimed at making the realities of military life and the experiences of veterans more relatable to a worldwide audience.
