Maureen, a newcomer to filmmaking and creating for the screen, won the award for Best First-Time Director in New York City and via Toronto Women Film Festival, for her first short film, Brume (2022). Brume also received several awards for Best Ensemble, in addition to numerous other nominations. She recently completed her second short film, Belinda, which is playing across the festival circuit. A third short film is in preparation and, also, a first feature version of Brume with a completed script by Silvia Peto.
She founded WIN: Writers Innovative Network in 2017 which seeks new work by both established and rising writers. She often serves as script editor or co-developer alongside the writer believing that a great script is essential. Maureen directed stage for several years in Chicago, London, New York City and Munich where she honed her skills as a director working with international casts and teams.
As an American citizen with EU resident status, she divides her time between Germany and the USA.
