Mahesh Gopal, native of Kollam district, was born to K. Gopalakrishnan and Leela Gopal. He had his primary education from Kollam Jawahar Balabhavan, Kollam St. Joseph School and St. Aloysius High School. Mahesh completed his undergraduate degree from SN College, Kollam and his graduation from UT Institute, Kollam. He is now working in bank and is residing at Kalpetta.
Mahesh has been in the visual media industry since 2011. He has written screen plays for short films that received international acclaim, and also wrote lyrics for various musical albums. Mahesh Gopal made his film debut by writing the story for Alamara, directed by Mithun Manuel Thomas. His second movie as the script writer was Madhura Manohara Moham, which had huge box office reception. He also worked as a co-producer for the film Porattam, directed by Bilahari, which was released in 2017. Mahesh made his debut as a lyricist by writing one song for the film Ellam Set Aanu.
Mahesh Gopal is married to Sonia, and is blessed with a daughter, Meghaleena.
