Ms. Galán is a writer, producer, and book editor/publisher through her company, Wynnpix Productions (2012-present; www.wynnpixproductions.com). Her recent film work included producing the independent feature, A Stone in the Water (2019) and co-writing the PBS documentary Siqueiros: Walls of Passion. Since 2012, she has edited and assisted in the publishing of hundreds of fiction and non-fiction projects. She was the Executive Director of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) for eleven years (2001-2012), establishing it as the preeminent national Latino media organization. She oversaw the growth of its membership 5-fold, plus created and programmed six respected National Signature programs. She was responsible for all of the organization's staffing and day-to-day management, millions in corporate and foundation fundraising annually, publicity strategies and branding, regional programs and chapter development, plus design of the www.nalip.org website and eNewsletter Latinos in the Industry. In addition, she supervised eleven National Conferences, each year working with her team to program over two hundred speakers, instructors, funders, and executives into plenary sessions, workshops and seminars. She also oversaw eight Latino Media Markets at the Conference, a program designed to further advance the opportunities for project funding and Latino media employment. She has been an independent producer (French Kiss, Squanto, Daybreak, A Stone in the Water), new media consultant and studio executive. She was head of production for Atlantic Entertainment Group and a production Vice President at Walt Disney Studios' Hollywood Pictures, then ran Meg Ryan's Prufrock Pictures and her own consultancy firm, EKR Strategies. In addition to the management and development responsibilities of these film and television production companies, she arranged for millions in international co-financing. She is a graduate of Amherst College, and did initial media studies in video art at SUNY Buffalo; she completed her MA in film and media studies at UCLA.
