Theater credits include winning rave reviews opposite Sam Rockwell at New York's Public Theater in Stephen Adly Guirgis's "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot", directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman; Pulitzer-Prize-winner Nilo Cruz's "Beauty of the Father" at Manhattan Theatre Club, directed by Michael Greif; Stephen Adly Guirgis's "Den of Thieves" at L.A.'s Black Dahlia, directed by Matt Shakman; Lyle Kessler's "Robbers" at NY's American Place Theater, opposite Michael Rapaport; Brett C. Leonard's "Roger and Vanessa" at Tim Robbins' Actors' Gang Theater; and Bob Glaudini's "A View from 151st Street", NY's Public Theater, Oct.-Nov. 2007.
In 2011 Rodriguez originated the role of "Veronica" on Broadway in Stephen Adly Guirgis's play "The Motherfucker with the Hat". She was nominated for a Tony Award and won the Outer Critics Circle Award. The entire cast - Rodriguez, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Rock, Annabella Sciorra and Yul Vazquez - won the Theatre World Award for Best Ensemble.
