Florence Gill and associates sing the title song in flat voices and like clucking chickens in this unlikable soundie.
Soundies came in almost every variety of popular music in the 1940s, so a certan amount of hillbilly music was inevitable. However, despite some good instrument playing, the singing of this one is just annoying.
Soundies were three-minute films intended to be played on a device called a Mills Panaram. Drop in a dime, and you got one out of ten on a reel. The reels were changed weekly, and from 1940 through 1946, Mills and other producers turned out more than two thousand of them.
