This movie follows Ratna as he seeks wealth through politics and gang wars, portraying the drama between gangs, Ratna, his henchman, and the local community.
Set as a typical rags-to-riches gangster film, the introduction of the protagonist feels weak, and the subsequent buildup is overwhelming and disconnected from that initial scene. The comedy moments are mediocre at best. Ratna attempts to establish a business and later desires to work with a politician involved in illegal sand mining to enhance his fortune. His decision to transition to another mob boss and ultimately betray his current one adds depth to his character, but this complexity is not effectively conveyed on screen.
Ratna's love for the mob boss's daughter faces opposition from her father, leading to a series of clichéd events where Ratna injures the boss, and his love interest eventually turns against him. These elements follow typical gangster movie tropes; unfortunately, the emotional impact of these scenes is conveyed in a dull and uninspired manner. The story continues with villains uniting against Ratna, introducing a new antagonist in the second half who aims to defeat him, only for Ratna to prevail. While the second half of the movie is comparatively better than the first, the flashback intended to explain Ratna's ruthless actions feels unnecessary. The romantic scenes between Ratna and Bujji are particularly unconvincing, with Bujji portrayed as a stereotypical love interest who meets a tragic end in the latter half.
Vishwak Sen's performance as Ratna is overacted at times, while Neha Shetty serves primarily as eye candy, featured in awkward romantic scenes. The cinematography and composition are well-executed. The fight sequence in the police station is choreographed and shot effectively. Yuvan's musical score has its moments but remains mostly mediocre, with "Suttamla Soosi" being the only standout song.
In conclusion, this movie is mediocre due to its poor pacing, scene construction, and character development. I wouldn't recommend watching it.
