The Monster was unable to attend on the first day of filming, and so had to be filmed separately on the second day, at a different location; at 12:27, when the monster appears, so does a stripe of paint on the wall behind him, which isn't on the wall with the villagers. The paint continues to reappear and disappear throughout the next few minutes of the film.
