White Ghetto, which calls itself #1 in Niche, whatever that might mean, takes a wrong- headed approach to presenting transsexual entertainment for voyeurs out there in video land. I've seen several in this misguided series, and they are all terrible, compared to competing product in the marketplace.

This boils down basically to an issue of psychology, which I will elaborate on more generally at the end of this review. Does the voyeur turned on by transsexuals engaged in sex base his interest, probably subconsciously, on the primary or on the secondary sexual characteristics? White Ghetto goes for the primary, so their features are all about the cock.

This video's title as well as the advertising come-on stress that fact. Contrast that with a superior line of videos in circulation, for example Roy Alexandre's. His are titled "Beauty Queens", and there the emphasis is on physical beauty, of breasts, face and overall allure. The cock is relegated to the status of a "surprise package", a la Neil Jordan's famous mainstream hit "The Crying Game".

Even more astute is filmmaker Nica Noelle's series of TS features, currently for her Transsensual label. Even as sex object (this is porn after all), she presents the trans-female as a complete person, with a dick certainly but defined by beauty and personality.

So White Ghetto gives us four lengthy vignettes of frankly ugly women with quite big dicks, certainly longer and more useful than those of the competition. The women mainly get humped by rather yucky looking guys and occasionally return the favor. It's strictly mechanical sex presented as a freakshow, perhaps the template for a season of "American Horror Story" a decade from now when perhaps society relaxes censorship (even on cable) to the point where as with Adult Entertainment post-1970 explicit sex is the norm.

There are no authorship credits for this stinker, and a general sloppiness pervades. Opening credits lead off listing "Adrianna" among four women, and then the first vignette features two women named Adrianna, listed as Adriana Venturi and Adrianna Alburg (doesn't agree with IMDb's listing), who have a threesome with a creepy bald guy. Money shots are bountiful and I guess the target audience might go away satisfied with such minimal Pavlovian content. The other three girls are no beauties either, but are all packing, so to speak.

Watching this rather depressing exercise reminded me of a key issue in the history of pornography which is not discussed or even reaches the level of consciousness anymore. I grew up in the '50s and was aroused by girlie magazines, never a cock in sight. When hardcore porn was legalized (by the Supreme Court) in the '70s, there was initially a debate over the sudden influx of cocks as the centerpiece of erotica, since many people (myself included) preferred to gaze at the female form. Gay Magazines and porn was available for cock-worshipers.

Yet the pornographers and no-nothings in the audience prevailed, and with the noticeable exception of the burgeoning lesbian sex specialty market, the cock rules on screen. TS videos like this one carry on that almost conditioning emphasis, when logically I would have assumed that it was the feminine qualities of TS performers, not vestigial dicks, that should form the basis for any crossover attraction. I'm speaking of voyeurism - pornography - here, not real life relationships. You know, the fantasy world you and I, as IMDb fans, live in.
