Red Letter nearly was filmed in California with the working title "In front of his eyes". It is the first film where Hitler is killed in a alternative reality of history. When the project got stuck, the director made a short with the first 10 min of the script in 2008 in UK. It was premiered at the New Cinematographers night at British Society of Cinematographers. Red Letter is nominated many times in festivals in USA and Europe winning 13 festivals. The idea of a Hitler assassination got around after that, inspiring 2 films in Hollywood and the turning point of the script, inspired another film with Uma Thurman. In 2010 another 15 minutes of the script was shot winning more 5 awards in festivals. The project finally started as a feature again in 2011 but was canceled with the closed down of the UK Film Council.
