Koffietijd

In 2014 when RTL existed 25 years the channel RTL4 devoted it's entire daytime programming to TV episodes from the past. One of these programs was Koffietijd with Hans and Mireille, and their episode was viewed by the most viewers of all the reruns that were shown that day. These two hosts were also seen live later that day in the evening, in the game show "Ik Hou van Holland".

The colors of the traditional holiday character "Black Pete" are a returning running gag in the opening movie since August 31 in the year 2020. This was probably done to honor the popular character because some companies are afraid to show the traditional character on products after receiving threats from a very small group of activists. Even after many complaints about the removal, the companies are still afraid to show the ever popular character.
