Reseña destacada
This film not only has a lot of melodious Carnatic/semi-classical numbers sung in the rich voices of Dr.KJY, SPB, Vani Jayaram & S.Janaki, but also has made use of lesser heard ragas like Bhavapriya (MadhurAmbAm Bhajare-originally the Dikshitar piece is set to Sthavaraj, as per texts)& NAmanArAyaNi-used in the second verse of the title song. A lot of Carnatic music info is also contained in the film. Though it does move between the natural & supernatural-it is not contrived & the story is very moving, with Sringeri & Kolluru & such other beautiful temples forming the backdrop. We hope to see more such films in Kannada-focused on our rich cultural(particularly musical)heritage of India-& South India in particular.
