Capitán Cavernícola

The show was a parody of Los ángeles de Charlie (1976). The Teen Angels, Brenda, Taffy and Dee Dee were clearly inspired by Josie, Melody and Valerie from an earlier Hanna Barbera series, Josie y las melódicas (1970), HB having lost the rights to those characters. The character design of Captain Caveman himself had already been used for the Slag Brothers in yet another Hanna Barbera cartoon, Los autos locos (1968). The story structure and character dynamics are reworkings of Scooby-Doo, ¿dónde estás? (1969) and its revivals.

During the series intro sequence, the narrator is heard introducing Dee Dee and Brenda wrongly as Brenda and Dee Dee.
