- CuriosidadesA Gannett News Service syndicated article by Paul Henniger about the airing of the unsold pilot on 27 June 1979 on NBC describes the show as starring Paul Williams as the host of a "morning kiddie show." ("NBC fills TV void with unsold pilots," The San Bernardino Sun, San Bernardino, California, Tuesday 26 June 1979, Volume 106, Number 177, page A-14.)
Reseña destacada
Back when NBC was dead last in the ratings and desperate for a turnaround, they hit upon the unique idea of bundling all of their pilots into a special to see if the audience would bite. Obviously no one did.
The premise of the show was that Paul Williams was the host of a children's program and played a Martian. This being shortly after the Viking probes landed on Mars, the kids in the "audience" didn't buy it. So Williams spends the bulk of the episode out of costume, "relating" to the children. How on earth they expected this to be more than a one-shot deal, I've no idea. Apparently, neither did anyone else, because it wasn't picked up as a series by NBC.
