LOOP is a sweet and gentle film. Niblo explores the territory between tragedy and comedy and exhilaration and despair and the permanent conflict that affects us all - the conflict between man and woman. the film's romantic and emotional power is irresistible. it is impossible not to feel engaged. the plot unravels to reveal a magical and endearing love story which is eloquently voiced by Niblo and first time director who has gone onto produce two of the most influential films of our generation ' HUMAN TRAFFIC' and THE FOOTBALL FACTORY. Although the acting is a little off par especially the once toast of independent Irish cinema mccourt just manages to be convincing by the skin of her teeth - mainly owed to the patience and craft in Niblo's direction. probably not a classic but worth watching.
