Intîlnirea

The director is Sergiu Nicolaescu, a well known, maybe the most known Romanian movie director and actor. The movie has everything: war, sparkling dialogs, love, unexpected end. In the second war period (december 1943, during Christmas and New Year period),Romania was occupied by the Hitlerists. Romanian opposition found out that a ship containing arms will arrive in a certain village at the borders, and they planned an action with the purpose of capturing the ship. Unfortunately the Romanian authorities, which on that time were on Germans' side, found out about the plan and infiltrated their own man. This person must be revealed. The main characters are: Filip, a colonel in Romanian army accompanying the German troops at the borders, ex-policeman, an enigmatic person whom we like and dislike in the same time; Andrei, a wounded, another kind of enigmatic person, "selfish" veteran and of, course, "la femme", Ioana. A very special woman for the two very interesting men. They all fell in love with her. But does she love any of them? Does she like to play with them? And who is the intruder? This is the question the director asked. I cannot say more. The final is very realistic.
