Bruce Joel Rubin originally met Nicole Kidman when she auditioned for Ghost (Más allá del amor) (1990). She was turned down because Director Jerry Zucker wanted a bigger name. Being very impressed with her previous audition, Bruce decided to offer her the role of Gail.

I'm not a very big fan of these kind of movies, but this one stands out. Watching Bob (Michael Keaton) record advices to his son to watch later in life was indeed very touching, and his struggle to make up with his parents... I can recognize his feelings in myself sometimes... Very good and touching movie.
