Reseña destacada
The distressed Nieves Blanco (Maria Felix) is a married woman , but lower class origin , being extremely unhappy . When her ill child dies , she separates her husband (Tomas Blanco) whose origin is higher-class . Then , she decides to look for works and other activities , but Nieves is unsuccessful attempting to earn herself a new living . Nieves asks of help her lover Ricardo (Eduardo Fajardo) and friend Isabel (Mary Delgado) but is really rejected . Later on , her life turns into a nightmare when gets mixed with a man , Luis (Antonio Vilar) , who is a killer who occupies himself dirty business and tries to incriminate her by manipulating evidences at a murder committed in Ciudad Lineal , Madrid . But they are watched by a heinous neighbour ; she , then , becomes the prime suspect . Shortly after , the single and malicious neighbour (José Nieto) blackmails her .
Classic Noir Spanish movie about a twisted love story between an unlucky woman and a nasty murderous in which takes place a complex intrigue and then multiple drama is inevitable with a mysterious confrontation behind . This interesting as well as intimate story is a passionate retelling and a touching drama . The picture has usual elements from Film Noir , as the Femme Fatale , a sour portrait of lack solidarity in a society full of blackmail , deceiving , distrustful , ingratitude , and several people who take advantage on distressed individuals . Thought-provoking movie revolves around a false guilty , in Hitchcock style through Nieves/Maria Felix role . Maria Felix gives an acceptable performance , though overacting and hysterical at times , as a woman who has walked out of a distressed marriage and is not happy with her luck . As María Félix created a larger-than-life character : herself . This famous Diva , nicknamed ¨La Doña¨, as the star was known after the role of her 1943 movie ¨Doña Bárbara¨ directed by Fernando De Fuentes , she starred in 47 movies, most of them forgettable except for her presence in them . She was also known as the ¨Vampiresa¨ for his Mexican films directed by Fernando De Fuentes as ¨La Mujer Del Alma¨(43) and ¨La Devoradora¨(46) . More a star than an actress, she constructed an image of a tough woman , a sort of one-liner she-male that went beyond the traditional role of Latin American women . Her marriage to Agustín Lara the most popular Latin composer from the 30s to the 60s, was a great event itself . Her fame went beyond Mexico to Latin America, Spain, France and Italy . Her last performance was on a Mexican historic soap opera, ¨La Generala¨ in 1970 . After her last film , she was linked to a number of film projects , but never came back to the screen . And Antonio Vilar who stands out in a nasty role , as a murderer who blames an innocent victim , he is doubtlessly the most famous Portuguese movie star , who played numerous films in the Spanish cinema such as : ¨Ines De Castro¨, ¨El Principe Encadenado¨, ¨El Judas¨, ¨Reina Santa¨, ¨Alba De America¨, ¨Principe Encadenado¨, ¨Don Juan¨ , ¨Alba De Sangre¨ and was Rafael Gil's favorite actor . Support cast is frankly extraordinary , such as : Mary Delgado as Isabel , Juan Espantaleón as a Police Inspector who investigates and resolves the case , José Nieto , Juan de Landa as Luis' father , Manolo Morán as a cab man , Eduardo Fajardo as her ex-lover Ricardo , Ángel De Andrés as trucker , Fernando Fernández De Córdoba as Doctor , Julia Caba Alba as Ofelia , María Isbert as train passenger , José Prada as train police , Félix Fernández , Rafael Bardem as gowns designer , among others .
Exquisite photography in black and white , plenty of light and shades by Theo Pahle , shot in Chamartín studios , Madrid . Thrilling and mysterious musical score by Manuel Parada . The motion picture was well produced by José Manuel Goyanes and Suevia Films /Cesareo Gonzalez that along with Cifesa were the most known production companies during Francoist period , that often financed these false but breathtaking historical spectacles . The yarn was professionally directed by veteran Rafael Gil . Being filmed in usual style of the forties and in stylistic scholarship , without leaving a trace the depressing issues about betrayal and assassination , in terms of dramatic and narrative excitement . Rafael was one of the best filmmakers from Spanish cinema , directing several classic movies such as : ¨Don Quijote De La Mancha¨ , ¨El Clavo¨ , ¨La Fe¨ , ¨La Señora De Fatima¨, ¨La Reina Santa¨ , ¨La Guerra De Dios¨ , ¨El Beso De Judas¨ , among others .
