Reseña destacada
At the start of this "Parade" the credits are split into several groups. First the actors, then the singers (there is some overlapping within these two groups). Lastly the musicians take a bow (no overlapping).
Greta Lund 'mit ihren 14 solisten' have just finished a successful tour, and to celebrate this she fires two of her musicians who have fallen in love with each other. Frau Lund tolerates this in neither her own nor her band members lives, although she is rather fond of her her little dog Liebchen. So she contacts singing trumpet player Peter Martin and his stupid pal Tommy Thomas as replacements, and boy do these guys need a job. Not content with one annoying sidekick, Peter also takes along his pupil/younger brother (who sings like a girl).
Now lets see, Peter was credited in the acting and singing categories up front but not as a musician, so his trumpet skills are not very impressive. Even less so are the drumming skills of Tommy T, who barely made it into the acting credits. Thomas' one note routine involves being allergic to beautiful girls, while Peter does some really sissy dancing. Both of them are still supposed to be straight, this being the fifties and all.
The singing troupe has to perform at some sort of holiday camp near the ocean. Peter der Playboy tries his best to impress Greta die Ice Maiden. Even before he realizes she is his new boss, he is already sneaking into her hotel room and trying to woo her through Liebchen. Meanwhile Tommy is thoroughly confused by a girl who spends most of her time thinly disguised as a 'cabin boy'. You see, cross dressing is what girls like to do on their 'Summer Holiday'. Least important of all is a plot thread of everyone awaiting the arrival of the infamous star Ramon Ramires. Is anyone really wondering if things will work out before the final medley?
