S'Waisechind vo Engelberg

This co-production between Switzerland and France had three different versions. The Swiss and German versions, directed by a the German "Heimatfilm"-specialist Hermann Kugelstadt, used the same actors and barely differed. Swiss actor-director Sigfrit Steiner originally supervised the Swiss-German dialect version but left after a dispute with the producer. The French version however, "Bonjour jeunesse / L'orpheline des glaciers", was shot in parallel by French director Maurice Cam with a largely different cast and crew.
