So guy has an obsessive crush on a girl. He seems a little neuroatypical so we can be nice, but he genuinely thinks being persistent is the way to get the girl and asks her out a 56th time getting a 'no' every time. She agrees to a single date hoping he'll be able to let it go once he sees they won't work, and he actually gets mad at her on the date for not liking and appreciating everything he does for her (good guy vibes right here), then dies trying to take an instragram photo to impress her in the most cringy way possible.
Girl has a guy she genuinely likes who likes her back, but the guy and obsessive boy are friends and he's too shy to make a move until his friend dies. They finally make a connection at his funeral.
Low and behold stalker boy raises from the dead and now must stay within 30 ft of girl because of a cursed necklace he gave her when they dated in 4th grade. Cue the comedy!
Except... Not. Okay, I really liked the setup and the characters. The thing I was waiting for was for zombie boy to finally understand that he never saw girl for who she was because he only saw his own fantasies. That he was never respectful of her and to truly let it sink in that he was told no 55 times. That they really had no future and trying to force her to be with him was unfair to her. Then deciding to do the best thing possible and give his closest and shy friend his blessing to date girl, and passing on with a bittersweet ending.
They didn't do any of that. This is like a love story for incels.
